Channing Tindall was a standout at Georgia but was overshadowed by other top LBs on the Bulldog defense. For the Miami Dolphins, expectations are high.

The Georgia Bulldogs’ defense led them to a National Title last year and three of their linebackers were drafted early with two in the first round. Tindall was very good as well and the Dolphins may have gotten a steal in round three.

Why you should be excited:

Tindall has a great range for his position. He is exceptionally quick for a linebacker and has equally good vision. He can recognize the run quickly and his reaction is also smooth. He is a hard-hitting LB with very good pursuit angles. In addition, he is not a liability in pass coverage and typically keeps up with big TEs and slot receivers when need be.

What to watch: Pursuit angles, pass coverage, run recognition quickness, and attack.

Where he stands on the roster:

Tindall enters this week as the third ILB behind Jerome Baker and Duke Riley but that could and should change closer to the start of the regular season. He could at some point challenge Elandon Roberts for the starting job but for now, he will be a rotational player who should see a lot of playing time in Miami’s first pre-season game.

Uniform number – 51

Playing time prediction: Tindall should have considerable playing time the entire game with most of his work coming after the first quarter and through most of the 2nd half.
