Miami Dolphins fantasy football option #4: Mike Gesicki

There have been rumblings during training camp about what Mike Gesicki’s role will be in the Dolphins’ offense, given his quiet showing thus far amongst the fireworks from other players. But he has shown the ability to be a dynamic weapon, and he is the player on the roster that is most familiar with Tua Tagovailoa professionally.

Much like Cedrick Wilson Jr., Gesicki could benefit from the attention directed at his teammates. He likely won’t make it over the hump to become the top-5 tight end that we may have hoped for in years past, but he would be a solid late-round pickup if he is still available at that point during your draft. If Gesicki is in your flex spot, you could be in good shape for 2022.

Miami Dolphins fantasy football option #3: The Defense

There have been pros and cons when it comes to owning the Miami Dolphins defense in your fantasy league over the last few years, and it could be the same story in 2022, making them a fringe asset to have on your roster. But if Miami is able to clean up the woes that plagued them early on last season, then they could vault themselves into a top 10 or even top 5 fantasy defense for the coming season.

The unit finished tied for 5th in total sacks in 2021 and will look to improve on that number with added pass rushing power and further developed edge players. They are a couple of years removed from leading the league in forced turnovers, but they still have ball hawkers in their secondary that could again place them in the top ten.
