The Miami Dolphins running back room has a lot of talent but who will make the final 53? That is a question we are about to find out.

  • 7: Chase Edmonds
  • 8: Raheem Mostert
  • 9: Alec Ingold

These three are all locks to make the roster. Ingold has been cleared to return to contact and John Lovett was put on season-ending IR last week. Edmonds didn’t do much in the preseason as expected but the Dolphins know what they have here so it wasn’t a matter of getting him reps.

Mostert will return for the start of the season after sitting out camp recovering from off-season surgery.

The depth at running back will make it an interesting situation for the rest of the running back room. With two RBs on the roster now, the final two spots should go like this.

  • 10: Myles Gaskin
  • 11: Salvon Ahmed

For Gaskin and Ahmed, it is an almost pick-em situation. Ahmed has more work in the preseason and Gaskin has been the subject of trade speculation. As for Michel and White, White has more potential but Michel has far more experience.

Since this is a predictive piece, I will go in this direction. I think Ahmed makes the roster and Gaskin is traded. If he can’t be traded he makes the roster and both Michel and White are released. Final predictions for this piece, Ahmed and Michel with White heading to the PS. I see no spot for White on the final 53 in any case.

I would also say that the Dolphins could very well add another RB cut from another team’s roster after week one.
