The Miami Dolphins TE room has been the focus of a lot of trade talk and that may not end until the trade deadline.

  • 18: Mike Gesicki
  • 19: Durham Smythe
  • 20: Hunter Long

Cethan Carter will probably make the roster because I don’t think that he should. His preseason tape hasn’t been very good and the Dolphins need a roster spot for Skylar Thompson. It could come from a tight-end unit that saw Adam Shaheen traded and then returned to Miami and placed on IR.

The speculation of a Gesicki trade has swirled but Mike McDaniel said he loves coaching Gesicki and there is a spot for him in this offense despite his blocking abilities needing to be better.

If the Dolphins keep four TEs I would be surprised but I also wouldn’t be surprised if McDaniel and Grier don’t pay close attention to the waiver wire for that 4th TE if we are being honest. Carter is more a blocking tight end and he hasn’t been really good at it.
