Miami Dolphins: Final 53 man roster predictions ahead of last cuts
Now that I’ve listed my entire 53-man roster prediction, it’s time to think about the practice squad. The NFL allows you to keep 16 players on your practice squad, 10 have to have played no more than 2 seasons, while the remaining 6 can be veterans who have played any amount of seasons.
- Running Back:
1) Salvon Ahmed.
2) ZaQuandre White.
Ahmed is the odd man out for the running backs on the final roster, but he’ll be the top choice on the practice squad in case of any injury. White showed me a bit more than former seventh-round pick Gerrid Doaks, which is why I have him on the list instead.
- Wide Receiver:
3) Braylon Sanders.
4) River Cracraft.
I really like both Sanders & Cracraft, but the Dolphins’ WR room is too deep for either one of these guys. If they are ever needed I have full confidence in both of them to be solid options.
- Tight End:
5) Tanner Conner.
Conner is a really intriguing player. He’s got good upside, but with his recent injury and lack of experience, I think the Dolphins pick Carter over him to land on the 53.
- Offensive Line:
6) Larnel Coleman.
7) Adam Pankey.
8) Kellen Diesch.
Solid development pieces that aren’t quite good enough for the 53.
- Defensive Line:
9) Benito Jones.
10) Ben Stille.
11) Porter Gustin.
All three of these guys had good moments during the preseason, unfortunately for them, the Dolphins are just too deep.
- Linebacker:
12) Cameron Goode.
13) Calvin Munson.
The Dolphins will try to sneak their seventh-round pick on the practice squad, we’ll see if it works.
- Cornerback:
14) Kader Kohou.
A lot of people really like Kohou’s chances to make the final roster, but I think Elijah Campbell’s versatility and preseason production will send him to the practice squad.
- Safety:
15) Verone McKinley.
16) Clayton Fejedelem.
I was really interested in McKinley heading into camp, but I don’t think he did enough to make this roster.
That’s it! All 53 players predicted + 16 on the practice squad. Let me know what you think, and drop me a follow @MathisReports.
