Miami Dolphins Memorable Week 1 Games:

2019 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Not every game is memorable for good reasons.

You’ve waited all spring and all summer. A solid 225+ days without football, but you’ve been thinking about it the entire time. Your team has a new coach in place, and the excitement is back. Lunch is laid out before you, you’re with good company, and Sundays feel whole again.

By the end of the first quarter, the butterflies were gone, and the Dolphins were down 21-0. At half-time, the score was 42-10, with Miami’s lone touchdown coming with 13 seconds left. The excitement was gone and the familiar feeling of existential dread had set in, just an hour and a half into the season.

It would get worse. The Ravens would do all the scoring in the second half, and the game ended with an embarrassing score of 59-10. The game was so well in hand that Baltimore put in their backup quarterback, in Week 1 of the NFL season. Robert Griffin III replaced Lamar Jackson, completed all 6 of his passes, and threw a touchdown.

Things got a little better during 2019, but that was a rough way to start the season.
