2022 will be a make-or-break year for Tua Tagovailoa

Everyone has their opinions of Tua Tagovailoa, everything from good and bad and in between. Can he throw deep balls? Can he stay healthy? Can he win football games?

The only question we can answer right now is that yes, yes he can win football games, however, we don’t know if he can win the meaningful ones – yet.

In his first three seasons, Tagovailoa has had to recover from a hip injury that likely should’ve ended his football days, a head coach that didn’t want him, a new head coach, three different offensive schemes, a lack of weapons, the worst offensive line in football and a defense that couldn’t stop anyone for a long stretch of the season.

The reality of the sport is that it all starts and ends with your quarterback and Tagovialoa has received the short end of the stick, and I haven’t even brought up the Tom Brady situation.

Tagovailoa has shown flashes this preseason and training camp. His teammates have seen this enough to vote him captain. Tyreek Hill speaks wonders of his new quarterback.

But can he put it together?

Tua Tagovailoa has one last season to prove that he can win with the Dolphins. There are no more excuses to make with the roster around him. The truth is, this team will go as far as their quarterback can take them.
