A player that the Miami Dolphins must prepare for #3: DeVante Parker

DeVante Parker was easily the longest-tenured Miami Dolphins player before he was dealt to the Patriots this past off-season, and his career in South Beach left more questions about his place on the team and in the league than answers. There was never any denying his skill set that could have made him one of the most feared receivers in the game, but his work ethic, passion, and an unfortunate knack for injuries left us always wanting more from Parker.

But he gets a fresh start with a division rival in New England, and Bill Belichick will look to maximize the potential of the former first-round pick. And while there probably shouldn’t be any bad blood, you can bet that Parker has the Week 1 matchup circled on his calendar.

He may hold a grudge toward the new coaching regime for pushing him out of town, but should probably understand the business of acquiring a player like Tyreek Hill. But Parker will still be trying to put on his best performance in front of the Dolphins fan base that had plenty of ups and downs with him throughout his time in Miami.

He’ll be Mac Jones’ number one target as long as he is healthy, and getting torched by a former player in a game that you should win wouldn’t be a good look for the Dolphins. Keep Xavien Howard on him and don’t think twice.
