Take your pick, but the Miami Dolphins running game will be the most important part of the Miami Dolphins game plan.

Chase Edmonds

We could actually say, Edmonds and Raheem Mostert are important. Whichever running back is on the field is going to be an important part of the Dolphins’ offensive success. Mostert has incredible speed that will rival Jaylen Waddle and if he can find space out of the backfield, whether by running the ball or catching it, he will have big gains.

The importance of the running game will start in the trenches but the runners have to hit the holes quickly and execute blocks when needed. The key to the entire offensive game could come down to how well the running backs play on Sunday.

I would venture to guess that Belichick doesn’t believe Miami can beat him with their running game which tells me he will try and take away as much of Miami’s offense as he can and force the Dolphins to try and run against his defensive front.

Edmonds is going to play a big role on Sunday, maybe more than Mostert. Edmonds is quick as well and does well in all three phases of the run game. On Sunday, he will need to execute consistently to keep the Patriots defense from taking over the game.
