Raekwon Davis was a late addition to the Miami Dolphins injury report with a knee issue and if he can’t play, Christian Wilkins will be the most important man in the trench.

Christian Wilkins

Fans have been waiting through the off-season to see Wilkins back on the defensive line and this week he will get a chance against a suspect Patriot offensive line. In fact, he and Zach Sieler both could see the bulk of the snaps with Davis potentially being used situational.

There is little drop from Davis to Sieler and some would argue that Sieler is the better every down defensive lineman but one thing we know for certain is that Wilkins the heart and soul of the front seven and on Sunday, he can be the disruptive force Miami needs him to be.

Against the Patriots, Wilkins will have to help stop the run but more importantly keep the offensive linemen from getting to the linebackers. Wilkins is good enough to command double teams on the line and he needs to establish himself early as the player New England needs to focus on.

Wilkins may not have the statistical game many hope for but he could very well be the biggest part of the defensive attack.
