Miami Dolphins Week 5 Rooting Guide

Draft Position & An Unlikely Contender?

  • Texans over Jags

We didn’t anticipate the Jacksonville Jaguars being an early threat in the AFC standings, but they sit at 2-2 and are taking on the division rival Houston Texans on Sunday.

The Texans have yet to pick up a victory this year, sporting a record of 0-3-1. If David Mills and company can pick up their first win, it would push Jacksonville back to under .500 while doing little to help their own cause. It may end up being the ugliest game of the week (aside from Thursday Night’s disaster), but Dolphins fans should have at least some rooting interest in this one.

  • Panthers over 49ers

With future draft pick considerations in mind, there is an all-NFC battle that should interest Dolphins fans this weekend.

Rooting against the 49ers is something that we’ll do pretty much all season, considering the fact that Miami owns their first round pick in the coming draft thanks to the Trey Lance trade. They’re currently mixed in with the bunches of teams with a 2-2 record, but they had an impressive showing last Monday Night against the defending Super Bowl champions, and their stock is only trending up.

There aren’t a lot of marquee match ups for San Francisco the rest of the way, and don’t be surprised to see them sitting at 4-2 going in to their date with the Chiefs in Week 7.

You’re obviously rooting for the Panthers in this one.
