Miami Dolphins Week 5 Observations

6. Forget the QBs…the health of the offensive line could spell doom

Everyone will be talking about all three quarterbacks on the Dolphins roster, and all for different reasons, and health is an obvious issue at the position. But the problem may be even bigger for the guys that are supposed to be protecting them.

The team had already without Austin Jackson for the last three games when they suffered yet another blow on Sunday. The offensive line’s best and most important player, Terron Armstead, left the game in the first half with a familiar toe injury and never returned. If he is forced to miss time, then there is a strong potential for regression for the unit, which would spell disaster for the offense and perhaps for the season as a while.

7. No one misses Tua more than Jaylen Waddle

We all miss Tua Tagovailoa, and the feeling seems to become stronger with every passing day and every snap that the offense takes without him. But there may not be any one person who misses him being on the field than his long-time teammate Jaylen Waddle.

Waddle was setting the league on fire through the first three weeks of the season with Tagovailoa as his quarterback, but his production has been on the decline ever since Tua’s unfortunate injury on that infamous Thursday night. He had just two catches against the Bengals for 39 yards, and three on Sunday against the Jets for a measly 23.

Familiarity can make a ton of difference.
