Miami Dolphins: 3 players who could be traded before deadline
Miami Dolphins players who could be traded
2. Cedrick Wilson Jr.
When the Miami Dolphins signed Cedrick Wilson Jr., he was thought to be the WR2 behind Jaylen Waddle, complimenting the speedster with quickness of his own. When the team surprisingly acquired Tyreek Hill just five days later, Wilson was moved down to the third wide receiver spot, and was seen as a potentially dangerous compliment to the two premiere pass catchers.
That has not been the case thus far in 2022. Hill and Waddle are of course the runaway leaders statistically, but Wilson Jr. doesn’t even stack up with the rest of the bunch. He has just 4 catches for 40 yards, with half of those numbers coming in just the last game.
Should Wilson Jr. be traded before the deadline, he will present a $1.75 million cap hit for this season and $2 million in 2023, but would ultimately be saving Miami roughly $6 million by getting off of his $8 million cap hit. Perhaps the team that the Dolphins signed him away from, the Dallas Cowboys, could have some interest in bringing him back.
