Suspending NFL players who knock another player out of a game.

We can go further to the extreme. Knock a player out of the game, get penalized for it, then you too get to sit out. Why is it fair for a player to commit a penalty on another player and then collect a check the following week while the player who is now in concussion protocol can’t play?

Teams need to teach better, hold their players accountable, and feel the same disadvantage as the other team. Do you think that Teddy Bridgewater would have been left off the field if say, Sauce Gardner had to sit out as well?

That is extreme, Gardner made a clean hit but what if that hit wasn’t clean? Should he be allowed to continue playing while the opposing QB sits out and the team is down a starter? As I said, it’s extreme but it would send a big message that the NFL is taking it seriously.

Of course, the NFLPA would never consider this as an option. It doesn’t line up with their overall goals. Still, it’s something that would be taken a lot more seriously and the league may put a little less pressure on the referees to call stupid penalties.
