Miami Dolphins gameday: 3 players that need to step up!
By Brian Miller
Jason Sanders is not having a Jason Sanders Miami Dolphins season. Or is this who he really is?
Over the course of the last several years, Sanders has been money but last year was not good and this year he is missing critical kicks.
Last week against the Jets, Sanders missed a 50-plus attempt that gave the ball back to the Jets near mid-field. These were the kicks he used to make and was given a contract extension for. Now he isn’t making them.
This year he has had 8 chances and has made 6 and his longest is 49 yards. He is also 13 of 14 in extra points.
It’s early in the season, I know, but his misses can’t be overlooked. Both of his missed opportunities came outside of the 50 but those are the kicks that need to be made more than any others. If the Dolphins are going to win today, Sanders has to make those kicks and give the defense better field position to work with.
