10 observations from Miami Dolphins win over Steelers

2. Tua bailed out by Steelers drops

After Tagovailoa’s strong start to the game, it looked as though the rust began to re-form as the game wore on. There were at least three instances in the final three quarters of the Steelers defensive backs having potential interceptions slip through their hands. They were poor throws and decisions by Tua, ones that should have resulted in game-changing turnovers. But Miami was bailed out by the case of the dropsies that plagued the Pittsburgh defenders, and the game and stat lines could have been drastically different had they been able to hold on.

3. Edmonds has brick hands

He has fallen out of favor in the Dolphins’ backfield, and we are beginning to see why. After Chase Edmonds had his momentum-swinging dropped pass that cost Tua Tagovailoa and Miami an early touchdown against the Bengals in Week 4, his usage has been waning in favor of Raheem Mostert.

Edmonds didn’t do much to help his case during Sunday night’s game against the Steelers, as he had yet another big drop on a third-down that would have kept the Dolphins in control in the first half. One of his best attributes was his pass catching ability out of the backfield, but Edmonds’ hands have betrayed him thus far.
