Miami Dolphins: Detroit Lions by the numbers 2022
By Brian Miller
Dan Campbell will face his former team for the first time as a head coach after serving as the Miami Dolphins interim head coach when Joe Philbin was fired.
Dan Campbell wants to win every game but getting back into the win column would be especially nice for Campbell against his former employer. A lot has changed in Miami since Campbell was coaching Miami.
The Dolphins are now on their third head coach since Campbell left. Adam Gase replaced Philbin/Campell and Brian Flores replaced Gase.
As a head coach, including in Miami, Campbell has a 9-25 coaching record. Five of those games came in 2015 with the Dolphins. In Detroit, Campbell won 3 games in 2021 and so far, one game in 2022.
Campbell isn’t getting the production from his team that he should. There is talent but this team is being rebuilt and reshaped to be a far more physical team. The question is whether or not the Lions’ front office will keep Campbell around long enough to see it come to fruition.
Chances are, Cambell could be done by the end of the year. He is one of a handful of coaches that are on the proverbial hot seat according to many in the media.
