Miami Dolphins: Predicting the final 9 games of the season
Miami Dolphins: Predictions for the final 9 games
November 27th vs. Texans
Win 30-24 (8-3)
This could be a trap game for the Dolphins, coming off of a bye with a big, two-game West Coast swing looming. But coach Mike McDaniel should have his team ready to play against what could be one of the league’s worst teams, especially with an extra week of preparation. The score will be too close for comfort, as usual, but Miami should figure out a way to secure a victory in against the Texans in Week 12.
December 4th @ 49ers
Loss 35-17 (8-4)
The first of two games on a trip to the West Coast will feature Mike McDaniel going up against his old team and former mentor in Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers.
San Francisco has struggled early on in 2022 due mostly to injury, but could have one of the best teams in the NFL if everyone is healthy. Their roster is loaded with talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and could give Miami trouble. But perhaps McDaniel has something up his sleeve for Shanahan, and he’ll likely go all out in order to beat him.
It won’t be enough. Miami will drop this one in a second-half blowout.
December 11th @ Chargers
Loss 21-17 (8-5)
We’d love to see the Tua Tagovailoa outperform Justin Herbert and one-up his fellow 2020 draftee. We’d love to see the Dolphins get a much-needed late-season victory over an AFC opponent who will likely be battling for a wild card spot.
But the Dolphins have proved to be streaky over the last couple of seasons and to begin 2022, and they’ll unfortunately find themselves in the thick of a mini-losing streak when they finish up their two-game road trip. The players will be on at least day eight or nine of being away from home at this point (depending on travel plans) and the team may be gassed after the 49ers put up 30+ on them. Chargers by less than a touchdown.
