The Miami Dolphins are quite battle-tested in one-score games.

The Miami Dolphins have six wins this year and they’re 5-1 in one-score games. They have shown when things get tight lat in games that they more often than not know how to come out on top.

Now, I honestly think this is a bit of an overrated stat. The reason is that most teams play in one-score games. Like in the offseason when everyone is trying to justify a team that didn’t win many games from the previous season folks love to point to how many games they lost by one score or less. News Flash: the NFL has been built so that every game or most games are close in the end.

Go look at the Vegas lines for any week. The majority of the games have spreads within a touchdown. Why? Because most teams in the NFL aren’t much different than each other.

Fortunately for the Miami Dolphins, they’ve been on the better side of it most times this season. We’ve seen the Dolphins come from behind a few times and yesterday we saw them have to hold on and make plays late. It is what it is and it is is a team that shouldn’t be shell-shocked later in the year when bigger stakes are up for grabs.

I think there is something to that. If you’re used to these kinds of games and environments then you won’t lose your mind or cool when the real stuff is on the line.

But like I opened up within this article, I would really enjoy a game where they finish it at the end of the 3rd quarter or the beginning of the 4th quarter. A little killer instinct would be nice.
