3 things learned in the Miami Dolphins roller coaster win vs. Da Bears
By Matt Serniak
Josh Boyer needs to be better and smarter if the Miami Dolphins are going to do real winning.
This is starting to be a trend where the Miami Dolphins run a style of defense or hold on to philosophy and get absolutely worked by a team that really isn’t that good on offense.
We all knew that da Bears had one guy you had to stop and that player was Justin Fields. What did the Miami Dolphins and Josh Boyer do? They let Justin Fields have his way with them over and over again.
Now, Justin Fields is the kind of athlete that is going to get his when he looks to run as much as he did yesterday. But 178 yards is ridiculous.
What makes it even more ridiculous is that Boyer looked like he never tried to change up his approach. He kept bringing pressure which when it got there would miss or he would keep having his defensive ends run way up the field and past Fields so that Fields could, easily, just take off.
You trotted out Channing Tindall to be the Kobe stopper like he was Raja Bell and that guy got fakes out of his shoes all day and when others took his place they also had zero impact.
I don’t maybe tell the ends to not run so far upfield? Do you think maybe give it a shot and see what happens?
It just sucks when you know there was pretty much one thing you had to stop and you just let it happen all game. Makes me think that Boyer needs a talking too.
As I’ve said before, this team is too good to have obvious deficiencies. I’m not saying Boyer should be out but at the very least he needs to be made to understand that he needs to be smarter and more flexible out there.
