The NFL award goes to the person or team that is screwing over a player or team but won’t just admit it. And the winner is… Jim Irsay

This was a late entry for this award but man alive did Jim Irsay come hauling ass for it. Jim Irsay successfully fired Frank Reich and then out of absolute nowhere hired former Indianapolis Colts center and ESPN football talker, Jeff Saturday, to step in and leap over every other coach on the staff to be the interim head coach.

But the reason that Jim Irsay really deserves the award is that he will never say that this is being done because the Colts are trying to tank and get the #1 pick in next year’s NFL draft. Nope, he will never do that.

As a Miami Dolphins fan, I have a pretty good sense of when a team is tanking and Irsay and the Colts are doing that.

Irsay embodies Vince McMahon, in probably a ton of ways actually, because McMahon was the one who orchestrated the Montreal Screw Job when he told Earl Hebner to ring the bell when Shawn Michaels put Bret Hart in the sharpshooter though Bret never tapped. I don’t know if Bret screwed Bret. But I can say that Jim Irsay is screwing over everyone on the current-day Colts.

Oh, and here’s a fun fact, the Montreal Screw Job happened 25 years ago yesterday.
