This NFL award goes to the player that was biding his time, sitting from a distance, noticed you were in trouble, dropped in out of nowhere, and saved your season.- Geno Smith

Shame on you if you haven’t seen the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to get the reference and shame on all of us for not believing in Geno Smith. Honestly, nobody had this happening. Nobody had Geno Smith stepping up and having the Seattle Seahawks on top of the NFC West. Nobody had him playing like a top-six quarterback in the league but that’s exactly what he’s doing and it’s really cool.

Identifying good quarterbacking is like asking what is the meaning of life or how do you know if you’re in love. No one has a firm answer but everyone has many suggestions. Geno Smith flamed out in New York and we haven’t heard anything from him in years. Then he’s asked to be the QB of a bad Seahawk team who traded Russell Wilson and brought in Drew Lock. Everyone figured he and Lock would be swapped in and out of the lineup all year.

Nope, Geno is playing at a pro-bowl level proving that where you go in the draft, who your coach is, and what kind of an organization is around you matters perhaps more than anything else.
