3 reasons why the Miami Dolphins will defeat the Browns on Sunday
3 reasons why the Miami Dolphins will win on Sunday
1. Welcome back, Jacoby Brissett!
The Jacoby Brissett era in Miami was an interesting time. It was clear that head coach Brian Flores did not fully trust starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Brissett was in and out of the lineup throughout the 2021 season. He played when Tua was injured, or on 4th downs when the team needed a QB sneak, or even on some occasions when Flores simply felt like it.
The results were not great. Granted, he was playing being a historically bad offensive line, but the production was dismal and so were the results. He started a total of five games, and his record was 2-3. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. He played 90 percent of a game against the Bills in which the team didn’t score a single point, and one of those two victories was the game against the Ravens in which Tagovailoa came in to save the day and the season. The other win was against the Texans.
He has been playing far better this season as Cleveland’s placeholder starter, and currently has the same number of attempts that he did with the Dolphins, and with far better results. But his team is still just 3-5, and his touchdown to interception ratio is just 7:6, with the Browns ranking 28th overall in passing touchdowns. Given the combination of the familiarity with Brissett and his lack of depth options at wide receiver, the Dolphins will look to feast on their former teammate on Sunday.
