3 reasons why the Miami Dolphins will win on Sunday

2. Dolphins should be able to hang with Browns WRs

The Dolphins have obvious issues in their secondary, stemming from a long list of injuries and being forced to insert undrafted rookies in to the lineup. There have been mixed results, but it is clear that what was once Miami’s strongest positional group may now be something of a liability going in to the last half of the season.

But they should have some favorable matchups against Cleveland’s wide receivers. Xavien Howard will likely be matched up with Amari Cooper throughout the game, who is the Browns’ leading receiver with 553 yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones is a solid contributor as well with 417 yards, but no other wide receiver on their roster has more than 100 on the year. Noah Igbinoghene and Keion Crossen might not look so outmatched going up against the likes of David Bell and Anthony Schwartz.

One area of the Browns’ passing game that the Dolphins will have to key in on is the tight ends, as David Njoku is the second-leading receiver on the team, with Harrison Bryant being the fifth. Miami’s linebackers got torched by Cole Kmet last week in Chicago, and covering tight ends has been a weak point all year. Look for Brissett to have plenty of targets to the guys that Eric Rowe and Jerome Baker will be covering.
