Look, I hyped up Jason Sanders during the offseason. I interviewed Thomas Morstead and we talked about how dialed in Sanders was. Well, he simply doesn’t have it right now and I don’t know if he ever will again. On top of that, I don’t know if the team can wait for Sanders to reclaim the Mr. Perfect lifestyle he adopted a few seasons ago.

I thought with Morstrad being his holder and not Michael Palardy that Sanders would be the guy who signed the big contract before last season. But he simply is a liability out there, at the moment.

Sanders missed two extra points on Sunday. Did they ultimately matter? No, but that’s not the point. The point is Sanders is 13-17 on FGs and he has missed three extra points this season.

Not only that but you can’t tell me that you don’t get nervous when the Dolphins have to attempt a FG over 45 yards. You can tell that Mike McDaniel is aware of Sanders’ current struggles. You can tell he takes it into account and I would as well if I were him.

So I think bringing in some kicker to show that Sanders that his job is on the line and to fuel him to focus better isn’t a wild idea. This league is about production and right now Jason Sanders isn’t producing like the team needs.
