Punter Thomas Morstead:

I think Thomas Morstead has a great reason to be resigned, and the only real way I think he should not be resigned is if the Miami Dolphins think they can get Tory Taylor in the draft.

Tory Taylor has been crushing the football at Iowa this year and has been one of the most reliable punters in all of college football. Taylor has 24 punts downed inside the 20 this season, which accounts for 37.5% of all his punts.

Taylor would be a nice pick late in the draft if the Miami Dolphins are willing to make it. Thomas Morstead has been more than serviceable this season, I just don’t know how much the Miami Dolphins will be willing to pay to keep the veteran around.

Linebacker Duke Riley:

The Miami Dolphins will have to decide to either pick a linebacker high in the draft, which I happen to believe they will do, or they will need to trust in Jerome Baker and Channing Tindall to become viable coverage linebackers.

Duke Riley has been the best coverage linebacker this team has had this year, and I happen to believe they will try and resign Duke Riley to a team-friendly deal to keep him around in a veteran role.

I think Riley is very capable of being a high-level player for this defense, but he can only really be used in pass sets, which is why I think his role is too limited to this current team. However, the chance to bring him back should be one the Miami Dolphins jump at if the price is right.

Defensive Back Justin Bethel:

Bethel, though he is getting to the age where he starts to lose value, should be brought back simply for his role in special teams. He is one of the best special teams players in the league and has been for some time.

He also plays a position that as we have seen this year, lacks depth. His ability to play and at least be competent on the field under this scheme gives him a good chance to come back.

He also has defensive flexibility and can even play a little bit of safety which is big in the Josh Boyer scheme. His ability to play all over the field is a big deal, and he should be resigned. I just do not think he is as big of a priority as the top-5 on this list.
