1.) Resign Nik Needham to a 3-year deal.

I think Nik Needham needs to be on the top of the list for guys who should be resigned. Despite his season-ending injury, he was not playing where the Miami Dolphins had planned for him to play this season.

In 2021, he did not allow a single TD in coverage, and he was an elite slot corner when surrounded by Xavien Howard and Byron Jones. However, this season Nik Needham had to take on a different approach and he was forced to become a boundary defender.

This was something he struggled with early, and Needham never really got used to it. This forced the hand of the Miami Dolphins into pushing a guy like Kader Kohou to play a bigger role which didn’t work out well early.

I think this team has a clear need for more help in the secondary, but if you can keep a guy who you know is reliable in one spot, and you draft well to replenish that secondary with your early picks, you can do a lot with a little.

I think many people in the Miami Dolphins community are also assuming that Byron Jones will not be returning next season. If this is the case, an early pick might be necessary, and keeping a guy like Nik Needham in a spot he is comfortable will be critical.
