5 things Miami Dolphins fans have to be thankful for in 2022

4. Christian Wilkins and the defensive line

There have been issues throughout the Dolphins defense through the first ten games of the season, and the unit is still struggling to find its identity. But unlike the linebackers and the secondary, we haven’t had to worry about the defensive line at all, as they quietly became arguably the most consistent unit on the team.

It starts with Christian Wilkins. The Clemson product has quickly become one of the best interior linemen in the league, leading all players at his position in tackles in 2021, and he’s currently in second in the same category. He has 1.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss, and has hit the quarterback five times as well. We all know about the energy and passion that he brings.

His fellow linemen are playing excellent football as well. Zach Sieler is perhaps the most underrated player on the entire roster, and Raekwon Davis has put up solid numbers while receiving a more limited amount of snaps. Even John Jenkins has 4 tackles and a QB hit on just 49 snaps over the last four games.

The pass-rushing situation has been addressed with the acquisition of Bradley Chubb, so the linebackers and secondary will have to step up if the Dolphins hope to make any sort of playoff push.
