The Miami Dolphins wouldn’t currently be the Miami Dolphins without Chris Grier.

Perhaps the true mastermind of the entire Miami Dolphins operation is general manager Chris Grier.

Sure, Grier has some swings and misses. But as of late, over the last few years, he has had many hits that are paying off huge dividends.

It certainly appears that drafting Tua Tagovailoa looks like a very good move. The other picks in that 1st round were not so good. But he made up for it when he helped draft, Jevon Holland, Jaelan Phillips, and Jaylen Waddle.

It was that display of savviness that helped propel the team. The way he acquires draft picks and then turns them into much more is quite impressive and something that is somewhat replicated but not particularly duplicated.

Grier understanding to strike while the team is actually good enough to compete by trading for Tyreek Hill and signing Terron Armstead in free agency was out of this world moves.

Knowing that Mike McDaniel was the real deal while not one other team brought him in for an interview was next-level brilliance.

And then not sitting back this trade deadline and actually looking to upgrade the team by trading for Bradley Chubb and Jeff Wilson Jr. was the chef’s kiss for Chris Grier.

The work is never done but I 100% trust Chris Grier to get Miami in a position to keep acquiring talent while knowing which talent to cut bait with. It’s that ability to see the moves before they happen that I love seeing out of Grier.

I hope everyone has an excellent Thanksgiving. Be safe, be merry, and eat and drink well.
