3 sneaky keys to ensure a Miami Dolphins victory over the Texans
By Matt Serniak
The Miami Dolphins need to take take the soul, life, and spirit of the Texans from the opening whistle.
Do not under any circumstance let the Houston Texans do the one thing they are good at, to do the one thing you know is coming. That one thing is to pound the ball with Damien Pierce.
Pierce is the only guy on offense worth a damn right now and the Texans and everyone on Earth know it. We know they’re going to give him the ball and we know they’re going to give it to him often.
On the season, Pierce has 780 yards on the ground averaging 4.5 yards a carry. Pretty good for a rookie. Not only that but Pierce is 5th in the league in yards after contact.
If you want to see a bad football team feel like they have a chance, have one of those runs where Pierce drags like seven players for an extra 10 yards while being pushed by his lineman. Those kinds of plays are like stars in Super Mario Bros. They make you play out of your shoes and accomplish things you ordinarily wouldn’t.
Gang tackling, 11 hats to the ball, bring your friends, whatever football cliche phrase you need to make sure you tackle the ball carriers, tattoo it on your forehead.
Get Kyle Allen in obvious passing situations, preferably 3rd and long, and let the new-look defensive front swarm him.
Take the hope away from this team right from the beginning of the game and they won’t be looking to surprise you in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Then you can put the ball in the freezer or really do whatever you’d like on offense and defense.
