Miami Dolphins players who should feast against the Texans

2. Tua Tagovailoa

Statistically, the Texans’ pass defense is not bad. They’re in the middle of the pack when it comes to yards allowed, and are actually in the top-2 in touchdown passes allowed. But the quarterbacks that they have gone up against aren’t exactly elite, and the one they’ll see on Sunday is currently in the top-3 of league MVP voting.

Tua Tagovailoa has been on fire over the last month, and is playing arguably the best football of anyone at the position, including a 300+ yard, 3 touchdown, 0 interception game against the Chicago Bears’ top-10 rated pass defense. He leads the league in various categories, and would likely be neck-and-neck with Patrick Mahomes in the MVP race had he not missed 2.5 games due to a concussion.

The Dolphins’ schedule will get undeniably tougher as the calendar changes over to December, and Tagovailoa will face some serious tests against the likes of the 49ers and Bills defenses. But he’ll have a chance to knock off any bye-week rust against a seemingly inferior opponent in the Texans, and will look to continue his dominance before the team hits the road for a West Coast road trip.
