Miami Dolphins players who should feast against the Texans

3. Jevon Holland

It is no secret that Miami’s defense has struggled during a majority of the first ten games, and the banged-up secondary has been one of the areas of concern. Byron Jones hasn’t played yet, Brandon Jones and Nik Needham are on IR, and Xavien Howard is no longer the elite cover corner that we’ve been accustomed to him being.

But they have a chance to get right against Davis Mills and the Texans. Houston’s quarterback is the league leader in interceptions thrown with 11, and has also been sacked 28 times in 10 games. A defense that once thrived at causing turnovers, Miami has forced just four interceptions for far in 2022, three of them coming in one game, and the other in Week 1. They can start to get their confidence back in that regard against Houston, and it should be safety Jevon Holland who is the one to step up.

The second-year player came in to the season with big aspirations of becoming one of the top players at his position, but his performance has been streaky so far. He has just five tackles over the last two games, including one against the Browns in Week 10. If he is able to rack up double-digit tackles and nab himself an interception, it could be just what Holland needs to get his season back on track.
