Predicting the 3-game road trip for the Miami Dolphins

December 18th @ Buffalo Bills

BUF 21, MIA 17

As if flying roughly 6,000 miles round trip and spending about 10 days away from home while playing against two of the toughest teams in the NFL wasn’t enough, the Dolphins will immediately turn around and play a game in Week 15 that could decide the fate of the AFC East.

The Bills were the losers in an early-season game between the two teams that was infamous for its statistical oddities and blazing hot sunlight, but things could be different this time around. The game will be played on the shores of Lake Erie in Upstate New York in the middle of December, a long way away from the warm, yet shaded sideline at Hard Rock Stadium. We have seen how the Dolphins have performed in cold weather games over the last few years, and it hasn’t been pretty.

But this Bills team is not the juggernaut that everyone took them for in the preseason and early on in September and October. They have shown flaws, and Josh Allen hasn’t been the inhuman quarterback specimen that we’ve been accustomed to him being. Nonetheless, I just feel like the Dolphins will be gassed by this point in the season. They’ll be fine once they return home and kick their feet up for a couple of weeks (including Christmas), but I think the jet lag catches up with them in Week 15, especially playing against such a formidable opponent.
