George Kittle could be the key to the 49ers’ offense as the Miami Dolphins will find him hard to cover.

The Miami Dolphins will focus on stopping Deebo Samuel and taking Christian McCaffrey out of the game as well. If Brandon Aiyuk becomes the WR threat that Xavien Howard matches up against, the 49ers will still have George Kittle to throw at them and he will likely find himself covered by a linebacker or safety.

The key here is to force the 49ers to keep Kittle in to pass protect. If the Dolphins can get consistent pressure on Garoppolo, they will take a target out of the 49er arsenal. Of course, that also will set up tight-end screens as well which Kittle is very good at selling.

Kittle is 3rd on the team with 44 receptions for 450 yards and four touchdowns. He is a physical tight end who plays with a lot of emotion. He averages 12.5 yards per reception and is one of Garoppolo’s top targets where he ranks 3rd on the team with 51 targets behind Samuel’s (76) and Aiyuk’s (74).

The Dolphins will have to keep Kittle, along with the rest of the playmakers on the 49ers’ offense in check and Josh Boyer is going to have to come up with a very good game plan to stop them.
