Melvin Ingram has been impressive for the Miami Dolphins and has earned another contract.

During the 2022 off season, Melvin Ingram was a one-year addition to help add depth to Miami’s pass rushing unit. The linebacker quickly made his presence known and even with the addition of Bradly Chubb, continues to play well.

Miami should speak with his agent about a new contract. Ingram will  probably want a 2 or 3 year deal and that is something Miami should want to do. Even in a decreased role, Ingram brings value to the team and that shouldn’t be overlooked. The AFC East is getting a lot tougher offensively and letting go of players that can make plays isn’t smart.

Andrew Van Ginkel – Honestly, I wonder how most fans would feel about seeing Van Ginkel on another team? He isn’t great but he is exciting and plays hard every play. He has been exceptional at returning blocked punts for touchdowns as well as strip sack fumbles.

Van Ginkel won’t break the bank for the Dolphins and he is still getting better so keeping him makes a lot of sense. Will he test the free agent waters? Possibly but if I’m Chris Grier I’m going to work out a three-year deal that is team friendly and see where his development continues.

Trey Flowers – Hard to say what Flowers value is to the team. He was here on a cheap one-year deal and then went to IR. Chances are, Miami could bring him in for depth on another one-year deal for cheap. Or they could likelly wait out the start of the 2023 season and add him if he isn’t on a roster. With his injury history, Flowers may not find teams calling him right away.

Elandon Roberts – Roberts has good games and has some off games. He is at time inconsistent, especially against the run but he also will make a big play as well. He won’t be too expensive and he knows the system. To be honest, I think his future with the team will depend on who is running the defense in 2023.

Sam Eguavoen – Like Roberts his value to the team is depth and Miami has a couple of young linebackers that need to be worked in next training camp.

Duke Riley – Some fans love Riley but there are times that he is a liability. Riley works well in the defensive system that was called by Brian Flores but Josh Boyer hasn’t been able to get the same production out of him this year. Still, Riley is a good teammate and while he is inconsistent, he isn’t a huge liability but could money be spent better somewhere else? That’s a question for Grier and McDaniel.
