This guy would be a steal at this point in the draft, and I was shocked he was still available at this point in my mock draft. If you need any clarification as to why this guy is incredible just turn on the film and watch. Simply watch Tommy Eichenberg play.

He isn’t the biggest, he isn’t the strongest, he isn’t the fastest, but this kid can play football. This pick is also cool because it would reunite him with his older brother Liam on this Miami Dolphins roster.

For a linebacker group that needs help in man coverage against tight ends and running backs, Tommy Eichenberg is your answer plain and simple. He has a great burst to the ball and is an incredible run-stopper right away in the NFL.

When the Miami Dolphins add Channing Tindall eventually fully into the game plan they will allow Jerome Baker to become more of a pass rusher only, and that will open a lane for Tommy Eichenberg to play the Elandon Roberts role.

I think Eichenberg’s ceiling is extremely high, he is uber-consistent as a tackler and is a legitimate sideline-to-sideline player who will form an incredible future tandem with Channing Tindall.

His one shortcoming as a linebacker is that he is not a great blitzer, and has trouble getting through blocks. If he comes unseen and late on a blitz he is very effective, but he is not the type of player that can lineup and beat an offensive lineman consistently one-on-one.
