Miami Dolphins: 10 observations from Week 15 loss to Bills

2. Props to Kader Kohou

Kader Kohou has to be in the conversation for top-15 rookie, right? Top-20, at least? The undrafted free agent made a couple of very nice plays against the Bills, doing plenty to both help the team stay in the game, and solidify his spot on this team in the future.

Kohou has not only been excellent in coverage, but he is one of the best open field tacklers on the entire defense. He shot the gap and almost made one of the best plays of the night in the Bills backfield (a linebacker should have been there) and had a beautiful pass breakup in the 4th quarter as Buffalo was driving.

The secondary may be in trouble, but Kader Kohou is a very pleasant surprise.

3. Xavien Howard is…cooked?

Xavien Howard continued his streak of poor play on Saturday night, giving up a couple of big pass plays and showing poor tackling effort, which led to 15+ extra yards on a Buffalo scoring drive.

Howard’s regression could mean trouble for Miami in the long run. He is paid like a cornerback that should be able to shut down guys like Stephon Diggs, but he surely doesn’t look like one anymore. The price tag on the secondary in 2023 could be tough to swallow, especially given the money allocated to other positions.
