Miami Dolphins players with something to prove

1. Kader Kohou

The Dolphins entered training camp with what was thought to be one of the most talented secondaries in the league. But through injuries and underperformances, it has become one of the weaker points on the entire roster. Byron Jones got paid $6 million dollars and hasn’t played a down yet, Xavien Howard is starting to lose a step, and it has been a mostly lateral year for Jevon Holland’s progression. Not to mention the season-ending injuries to Brandon Jones and Nik Needham.

By way of necessity, Kader Kohou has been thrust into a starting role, and the rookie undrafted free agent has been one of the most pleasant surprises for the Dolphins so far in 2022. Through the first half of the season, he was rated as one of the better cover cornerbacks in the league. But he’ll still have something to prove over the final three games of the season.

Kohou will look to solidify his position in the team’s future rotations against less-than-stellar passing attacks. They’ll face Aaron Rodgers, who doesn’t have the weapons like he used to, and the Patriots and Jets have their own quarterback issues. If the Dolphins defense is able to step up and be a reason why the team makes (or advances in) the playoffs, Kohou could receive some of the credit and be considered for a long-term spot.
