3 sneaky keys to try and get the Miami Dolphins back to winning vs Patriots
By Matt Serniak
The Miami Dolphins have room to bring back bootlegs to the offense.
At least I think they do. I think the Dolphins could make bootlegs a part of the offense again. Before the season started, we all thought that bootleg passes were going to be a staple of the offense that would generate big plays down the field.
Well, a couple of things happened. The running game never developed early in the season which led to defenses never believing that Tua was actually handing it off. It led to Tua having to ditch the ball to nowhere immediately after he turned around with a defender in his face.
But with the running game getting a little bit better over the last few weeks, I feel there’s room to run bootlegs a bit more. I think Teddy actually runs those well and getting him on the outside of the pocket is a smart thing to do.
I have no idea who is more mobile Teddy Bridgewater or Tua Tagovailoa. I do know that Tua has a better pocket presence of eluding the first wave of rushers than Teddy. Basically, I think Tua has a quicker first step.
Get Teddy on the perimeter away from Matt Judon and let him throw strikes.
Belichick has had a very undisciplined team this year. Probably the worst of his career. We say they’re very well-coached because he’s there but we’ve seen them make colossal mistake after colossal mistake. I think you can fool their ends a little bit if the running game is being followed through.
