If Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa clears concussion protocol and wants to play vs the Jets then he should be allowed to. Enough with the fake outrage.

The concussion saga with Tua Tagovailoa has had a lot of twists and turns this season, and the Miami Dolphins have been put under a microscope. A lot of players have suffered concussions just as scary as Tua’s this year and in the past, yet there is no outrage to keep them off the field.

That is because this is football, and football players get hit.

Sometimes players get their bell rung but if they make a full recovery and want to play afterward, they are allowed to. No one freaks out because that is the routine of how the cookie crumbles in the NFL, not only with concussions but with all injuries.

So what changed?

I think many “social media doctors” have forgotten that Tua Tagovailoa is a football player, not a toddler at daycare.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett has also suffered 2 concussions this season yet there is not a single story suggesting he should retire. Tee Higgins suffered a bad concussion early in the season and was playing the next week.

Isaiah McKenzie got damn near decapitated and said he “couldn’t move” for a few seconds after a brutal hit vs the Colts earlier this season. So does the national media has an agenda against Tua?

Maybe it’s the fact that the scene of Tua’s concussion vs the Bengals was very tough to watch, horrifying almost especially with Amazon Prime running 37 replays of Tua’s fingers. But let’s not forget that Tua was cleared from the hospital that same night and flew back with the team.

Tua was discharged because the trauma center in Cincinnati cleared him with no brain damage, Cincinnati Medical Center has the #1 brain trauma treatment in the country. Yet people on Twitter and the media of course were outraged.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve honestly had enough of people with twitter degrees trying to play MD.

Tua Tagovailoa ended up recovering and returning to play the best football of his career for the Miami Dolphins. Yes, the 4 game streak showed some ugly moments for Tua Tagovailoa but the rest of the team had faults that were just as bad.

However no matter how you feel about Tua there is one thing we can all agree on, Tua Tagovailoa gives the Miami Dolphins the best chance at winning the most critical game of the season vs the Jets. It’s not debatable.

I don’t want the social media doctors to twist my words so let me make sure I make this as clear as I can.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa should come back only if:

  1. He is cleared by doctors, confirming 1000% that he is 100% healthy to play NFL football.
  2. He feels ready to come back and wants to come back.

If Tua Tagovailoa has even an eyedrop of doubt then he should sit out, but if the doctors say he’s good to go, he feels good to go, and he wants to come back and play then who cares what the goofy TV hosts have to say?
