The Miami Dolphins playoff hopes will rest on the arm of Skylar Thompson in all likelihood with Tua Tagovailoa likely out.

Miami has yet to say whether or not Teddy Bridgewater will be available but Mike McDaniel told reporters on Monday that Tua is not part of the plan for this coming weekend’s game. Tua is out with a concussion.

Bridgewater broke a finger on his throwing hand against the Patriots last Sunday and remains questionable for Sunday.

Against the Jets earlier in the season, Tua was out of the game and Bridgewater was taken out and put in concussion protocols after the first offensive play. Thompson was not able to rally the Dolphins.

Miami’s playoff chances rest on beating the Jets who were eliminated this past weekend and will need the Bills to beat the Patriots.

While the focus for some will shift to this weekend, most fans are still awaiting word on the health status of Damar Hamlin who was seriously injured on Monday night. The Bills and Bengals game was postponed and it appears unlikely that the game will get rescheduled at this point.

Football is secondary to Hamlin’s health and last night’s events proved this is nothing but a game.

Still, at some point, the NFL will resume playing and the Dolphins will take the field on Sunday against the Jets.

The Dolphins are favored but that line is likely to change if Bridgewater can’t play.

Miami has suffered a lot of injuries this year and their QB situation has not been good all season long. Bridgewater has yet to finish a game he has started and Thompson has shown that he is not ready. The Dolphins have not, as of yet, signed another quarterback to the roster but they will likely have to add another one at some point this week, sooner than later.

For now, our prayers continue for Hamlin, the Bills and Bengals, and the families as well.
