Well, we all know the deal. Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for Sunday’s Wildcard game against the Buffalo Bills and Skylar Thompson is being prepared as the starter.

This isn’t the news I thought we would hear but I was prepared for it. I thought it would be difficult for any MD to clear Tua but I just had it in my gut that it would happen especially seeing him in the tunnel celebrating with the players after the Dolphins win against the Jets.

I hope he heals up as much as humanly possible. I have no idea if we will ever see Tua in a Dolphin’s uniform again. I mean, it’s possible that he never plays ever again, but I don’t think that will happen. But, will that be in Miami? I’m not sure about that either. I guess uncertainty is the only consistent thing with this franchise besides injuries. We’ll delve deeper into what the Miami Dolphins will do with Tua at a later date.

This is about Skylar Thompson and what he needs to do to prevent the Miami Dolphins from being mashed into a fine paste. Because it won’t just be the Dolphins starting a 3rd string quarterback on Sunday. It will be the Dolphins starting potentially their 6th and 7th offensive tackles. Terron Armstead is being treated for every injury known to mankind and Brandon Shell is also hurt. All the guys who can take their place are also hurt so right now it’s Michael Deiter and who the hell knows?

Oh, and Raheem Mostert broke his thumb and Mike McDaniel said you can’t count him out which means even if he does play what can he really provide?

So what I’m saying is that the Miami Dolphins with Skylar Thompson have just about zero chance of defeating the Bills up in Buffalo. Miami winning would be like a #21 seed winning in the NCAA tournament. This article is about what Skylar Thompson needs to do to prevent the Dolphins from being beaten into another dimension.

Sorry for the doom and gloom here, but it’s just how I feel. On Sunday, I’ll be in a relaxed mood because I’ll be treating the game like a living funeral. I’ll be telling whoever is around me about the good times this season gave us while I watch the 2022 Miami Dolphins get laid to rest. When it’s over I’ll say something like “at least the suffering is over.” A strange little smile like Andy Dufresne had after he convinced Byron Hadley to get his “co-workers” beers for tarring that roof is what I’ll be wearing because I’ll be glad when this is all over. On to the list.
