The Miami Dolphins are transitioning into their off-season and five players are likely not coming back to the team in 2023.

Mike Gesicki would be a copout here because we all know that he won’t be back with the team in 2023. In fact, Gesicki being re-signed would be an incredible shock to just about everyone and would leave fans questioning Chris Grier even more than they already do.

While we should fully expect Gesicki to part ways in free agency, there are a few others who we are not entirely certain of but we can take a pretty good guess that they will not either be re-signed or let go completely.

Melvin Ingram should be re-signed but will Miami have the cap space to bring him back on even another one-year deal?

Miami fans love Ingram and his play this year was worthy of another contract, at least a minimal deal but Ingram also showed that he is still able to contribute in this league and the Dolphins will not have the luxury of waiting until free agency dies down to pick him up.

Ingram isn’t going to be a tier one or tier two free agent but he will be an easy addition for a linebacker-needy team and this year he proved he can still get to the passer and drop into coverage.

Personally, I would love to see Ingram back in Miami but at this point, I’m not sure that is going to be realistic given needs in other areas and the Dolphins’ cap situation heading into free agency.

Michael Dieter is also a player that won’t be back. We won’t include him but he didn’t take a single snap this year on offense, instead, relegated to special teams work. His time in Miami is not going to last beyond March.
