The 2022 season was full of ups and downs for the Miami Dolphins. Here is a collection of some of the lowest moments that they endured.

The rollercoaster of a season for the Miami Dolphins has finally come to a conclusion. The 2022 campaign was full of streaks, as we watched the team rise and fall throughout the standings in different parts of the season.

The epic December collapse ruined what had been one of the most fun years of Dolphins’ football in the last two decades, but there were still positives to be had throughout. The team had a top-10 offense for the first time since the mid-90s, and Miami was considered to be a Super Bowl contender as late as Week 14.

But for every explosive play and jubilant celebration, there were as many moments that made us shake our head and put our face in our palms. Here are the five most embarrassing moments for the Miami Dolphins from the 2022 season:

5. The Butt Punt

It would have been so much worse if the Dolphins had lost the game, but the Butt Punt was played on highlight (or lowlight) reels all over the country after Miami’s Week 3 game against the Bills.

The Dolphins were holding on to a 21-17 lead against their division rivals when they lined up for a punt on the edge of their own end zone with less than two minutes remaining. In true Dolphins fashion, instead of giving the Bills a long field and a 4-point deficit, Thomas Morstead’s punt ricocheted off of the butt of Trent Sherfield, resulting in two free points for Buffalo. The Bills would get the ball back, too, needing only a field goal to win the game.

Miami’s defense held strong, though, and Josh Allen ran out of time as Buffalo was making a last-ditch effort to get into scoring range.
