If we are being honest, the options are not very good and this isn’t meant to excite anyone. The Miami Dolphins need help and they need someone who can start and win ball games.

There are 38 impending free-agent quarterbacks and many of them will re-sign with their teams. Of those 38, several will want a starting job.

  • Tom Brady
  • Jimmy Garoppolo
  • Geno Smith
  • Daniel Jones
  • Lamar Jackson

The next level of FA-QBs is the ones who will sign deals that will allow them to compete for a starting gig. Likely to go to a team who drafts a rookie. These few QBs are no longer realistic starters but will still try and sign with a team they think they can.

  • Baker Mayfield
  • Sam Darnold
  • Teddy Bridgewater
  • Taylor Heinicke

Miami might be able to sign one of those four but they won’t be cheaper options and honestly, outside of Heinicke, none of them are inspiring options.

Miami could go with the old guard. Veteran QBs that can step in and play at a moment’s notice and will not be shocked by what they see on the field.

  • Andy Dalton
  • Kyle Allen
  • Blaine Gabbert
  • Chase Daniel

Personally, I would go in a different direction.
