No idea who the #2 corner will be. I doubt Vic Fangio does either. Whoever it is needs to be coached up to compliment Xavien Howard.

It might be Kader Kohou. I hope it isn’t Nik Needham because I like him too much in that slot corner role as long as he’s physically up to it. It won’t be Byron Jones because it won’t be Byron Jones(watch it end up being Byron Jones, that be crazy right?).

Kader Kohou, who was undrafted out of Texas A&M Commerce, played extremely well given that he was only thrown in there because about 4 guys got hurt in front of him. He held down the #2 corner role for the majority of the season. Sure he had mistakes but given that playing cornerback is like decoding the Sphinx and didn’t welt under the pressure and tackled so well, I think he should get the first crack at being the opening-day starter opposite of Xavien Howard.

Having someone who can handle teams trying to shy away from Xavien Howard(yes I realize Howard had a bit of a down year and teams started going after him) is necessary especially given how much 2-high safety Vic Fangio likes to play.

First off, if you’re not following @HussanPatel on Twitter, you should be because that guy breaks things down like a young Gil Brandt. Secondly, what this tells me besides Fangio enjoying playing 2-high safeties is that because of that, Xavien Howard might find himself not as much on an island as often. There might be equal safety help on both sides of the ball meaning teams may not care which side their stud receiver is on. Possibly good for Howard, but more stress is put on the other cornerback whoever it is.

It might be Kader but it might be someone not even on the team right now. I guess we’ll no more about that when free agency starts and in the NFL draft.
