2023 first round NFL mock draft sees a couple of early trades
By Brian Miller
The mid-rounds are always fun but this NFL Mock Draft isn’t quite there yet as we finish out the top ten and dip into the teens.
O.k. hear me out here. The Packers will trade Aaron Rodgers to the Raiders for a swap of first-round picks this year, a 2nd round pick, and a first next year…maybe even more. For now, I’m sticking with a swap of 1s for this years draft only.
The Packers need line help, WR help, and secondary help but I don’t see them using a pick on a WR, that would be a monumental slap in Rodgers face after what they did to him at the position but protecting Jordan Love is a priority now.
What the Falcons should do is draft a quarterback. What they will do is ride with Desmond Ridder another season and then hope he pans out. Murphy is a very good Clemson product and will at least make the defense a little better. Sadly, they are still likely to pick in the top 10 in 2024 as well.
Patience pays off for the Carolina Panthers and new head coach Frank Reich gets a QB to shape and develop. Stroud should be a serviceable rookie who will have quite a few growing pains but this is a good franchise move for the Panthers, should he fall to nine.
What do you really need if you are a Super Bowl team who is drafting in the top 10? You don’t have any real needs, but you can draft whoever you want. The Eagles defense is really good and Foskey makes them better.
The Titans failed this year and there is no way around that. They collapsed down the stretch in what was/is the weakest division in the NFL. Taylor Lewan’s knee injury and age are enough to make the Titans go OT early. Maybe they find the same success. Their bread and butter is still Derek Henry and they need to block for him.
