The Miami Dolphins will be a lot better defensively with Emmanuel Ogbah back on the field.

The Dolphins lost Emmanuel Ogbah in week 10 with a torn pectoral muscle against the Browns. The injury obviously ended his season. Ogbah wasn’t playing at the same previous level he has the year before but his loss was still not a good one.

This year, Ogbah will get the chance to lineup with Jaelan Phillips on one side and Bradley Chubb as well. If the Dolphins add a linebacker in free agency, Miami could have one of the best fronts in the NFL but it will take Ogbah returning to his success of two seasons ago.

When healthy and playing consistently, Ogbah is relentless. He has 19 sacks in 2.5 seasons and 52 hits on the quarterback. Can he rebound in 2023 from both the injury and his off season? That is something we will need to keep our fingers crossed for but there is no question that if he does, Miami’s edge is going to be downright scary.

The Dolphins need their linebackers and edge rushers healthy and Vic Fangio has a lot of talent to work with as he schemes his defense ahead of next season. Ogbah will be a part of that…hopefully a big part of it.
