This move would make franchise QB Tua Tagovailoa feel a lot safer when he drops back to pass each rep.

Ben Powers didn’t miss a single snap last season for the Baltimore Ravens after winning the job in training camp. The former 4th round pick put on a clinic and had an absolute career year earning himself a nice juicy contract.

However, lucky enough for Miami Dolphins fans, Baltimore likely cannot afford the contract Powers will command with the impending money they will be paying to Lamar Jackson.

Spotrac has Ben Powers estimated to make $9.4 million per year over 3-5 years on this upcoming contract. The Miami Dolphins would be silly not to offer.

On top of that, Powers has been in a run-heavy system before and served extremely serviceable in that system, so coming into Mike McDaniel and Frank Smith’s heavy run and play-action system should only complement what he does best.

Let’s not get that confused though, Ben Powers is a freak athlete in the pass-blocking game. He allowed no sacks the whole season and only committed one penalty. FREAK ATHLETE.

The 26-year-old is young as well, and likely only going to get better as time goes on, so snagging a guy as he is entering his best years makes even more sense for a Miami Dolphins team on the rise.

If that move is too much and cap space is too tight I get that. So let’s look at a good veteran who can step in and get the job done while allowing a high draft pick to learn and compete behind him.
