So this might not be the sexiest pick, but it would get the job done and allow others behind him to gain experience if a draft pick is used in this position.

I have a feeling Chris Grier is going to swing for the fences in certain areas this offseason so a move like this is good enough to get by but won’t cost you a lot of money.

Trai Turner would be a reliable stop-gap, and when surrounded by very good players Terron Armstead and Connor Williams, he can make it work.

He will be the most cost-effective with his market value being only $2.6 million per year according to Spotrac over a likely 2-3 year deal.

With the ability to test the waters again on Austin Jackson at left guard, I think this move gives the Miami Dolphins flexibility.

Last year for the Commanders Trai Turner allowed only 2 sacks and committed only 4 penalties, which would be a large improvement out of the left guard position for the Dolphins.

He will not be an All-Pro, he probably won’t be a pro bowler, and he likely won’t impress a ton of people, but he does his job and he will continue to be a reliable piece to stand in.

Gain a solid veteran while you wait till there is more money to swing bigger. Here you can make a smart and safe choice if you so desire.
